Character Creation: Record Keeping

Characters are to be submitted on the society website - each venue has its own menu category, under which character creation is available for anyone registered on the site.

When creating a new character, the creation system following the following process:

  1. The player selects creature type details.
  2. The creation system determines whether the player has the available creation slots to pay that type, and offers available generation/rank as appropriate.
  3. The player inputs merits, flaws, and character background, then submits the character for Approval in Principle.
  4. The venue storyteller will review the character and either approve it or discuss the issues with the player.
  5. If any items selected require lead storyteller approval, the lead storyteller will follow the same process.
  6. The character is passed back to the player to select attributes, skills, backgrounds, and initial powers, then spend their starting experience points and submit for final approval.
  7. The venue storyteller will review the character and either approve it or discuss the issues with the player.
  8. If any new items selected require lead storyteller approval, the lead storyteller will follow the same process.
  9. Once approved, the options to create and review downtimes will appear on the navigation menu.
At games, the player may either use a mobile device or carry a printed copy of the sheet - this need not be printed from the website, but the website is the primary source of truth for character details. The character sheet provided includes trackers for blood, willpower, etc.

Characters may be returned for discussion for various reasons: In general, characters will not be disallowed for creature type or generation as long as the player has slots available, as it would defeat the point of having a systemic around being able to play such things. However, in cases where the ability to play such special or powerful characters has been abused by the player (e.g. wide teaching or a rare discipline or lore, inappropriate playing of an elder character), these things may be disallowed for future characters.
