The Nightfall Society
Camarilla Vampire Setting
Introduction
The attempted Anarch revolution in Berkshire is over. Following his failure to prevent or suppress the revolt, Prince Alfred Clark was removed by the Primogen Council and subsequently met his Final Death. Victory may belong to the Camarilla, but it is one purchased with the blood and ashes of many of the court.
Now Prince Torbjorn Heskin holds a Domain that is, perhaps, in the eye of a storm. As sectarian violence sweeps Albion, refugee kindred are starting to make their way to this dubious sanctuary to join it, whether their intention is to rebuild, subvert or destroy. The falls of Nottingham and Cambridge leave Reading ever-closer to the Sabbat warfront, and the recent murder of Justicar Lucinde sends out ripples throughout the entire Ivory Tower.
Setting
This game is primarily socio-political with a focus on intrigue, though there will be investigative elements to interact with as well. The setting is divided into territories (awarded by the Prince as a form of political patronage) and each brings benefits for an assiduous, or grasping, landholder.
Note that in our World of Darkness, the Reading Underground Network (controlled currently by Clan Nosferatu) is a small underground railway that connects a number of locations within Reading proper. Similarly, the Anglican Cathedral (St. Edwards) stands where Reading Prison used to be in our world and serves as the city's Elysium.
Feeding will be tightly controlled. Characters will either need permission to feed from the kindred whose domain they wish to feed in, or make use of the Rack in the centre of Reading. Note that feeding on Herd is still feeding, so if your Herd is resident within another's claimed territory, it is still a violation. Similarly, your character's feeding methodology will affect their starting Blood and Beast Traits at each game session.
Outside of core Camarilla territory, there are two areas of note:
- Ravnos Reservation – in 2018, under the “Roundhead Consolidation Agreement”, this reservation over Newbury and Thatcham was created as the place that the Ravnos are allowed to reside within the nation. It is officially part of the domain but is largely kept separate.
- Slough - this territory was granted to the anarchs by Prince Clark in an attempt to appease them prior to the Conclave of Prague, but subsequently became a dagger pointed at the throat of the Berkshire Camarilla. Since their defeat, it has been seized and absorbed into the London Domain in an unanticipated power grab.
The quest system will see use in the Camarilla venue.
